Ayako Morita

 

 Ayako Morita started playing the piano at the age of four. After graduating with a Bachelor and Master of Arts from Tokyo College of Music, she pursued her piano education in Belgium, where she studied under Dominique Cornil at the Brussels Royal Conservatory. During her last year, she was awarded a scholarship from “Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles” and finished her second Master's degree with “Grand Distinction” in June 2014.

 

 Being a prize-winner in several piano competitions, both in Europe and Japan, Ayako has performed in important concert-halls and is regularly invited to play Concertos, such as Tchaikovsky' 1st and Rachmaninoff's 2nd, accompanied by an Orchestra.

 

 Ayako Morita was one of the 5 pianists chosen during an audition to perform a solo « Debut récital » during the 2015-2016 season at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, one of the most renowned concert-halls in Japan. This event is sponsored by the Japan federation of musicians and the Agency for cultural affairs (a special body of the Japanese Ministry of Education).

 Since returning to Japan, she continues to actively performing both solo and chamber music fields. She is currently a lecturer at Showa gakuin junior college.
